EDD fraud, support for AB 5 should disqualify Su from confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Labor
SACRAMENTO – Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-Rocklin) and California Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City) will host a press conference opposing Julie Su’s nomination for U.S. Secretary of Labor at 10am, Wednesday, March 15, on the West Steps of the California State Capitol.
The press conference will draw attention to Su’s record of failure as California’s Labor Secretary, where she presided over the largest unemployment insurance fraud in U.S. history, oversaw the wrongful denial of 1 million unemployment claims, and backed AB 5, which threatened the livelihoods of 2.7 million freelance workers.
Attendees at the press conference, including lawmakers, freelance workers and Californians harmed by the Su’s mismanagement of the Employment Development Department, will call on the U.S. Senate to reject Su’s nomination.
