SACRAMENTO – Today, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher issued the following statement on the false and offensive social media post by a Democrat lawmaker calling California’s first Muslim member of the Legislature a “white supremacist”:
“California has serious problems – homelessness, poverty, crime, housing prices and more. It’s unfortunate that rather than addressing those issues, a lawmaker is engaging in name-calling and personal attacks. A policy disagreement is not an excuse to hurl untrue and malicious insults about our colleagues. Let’s focus on the issues, treat each other with respect and get back to work to improve things for our constituents.”
